This installment of Ask the Developer features interviews where Nintendo creators share their personal insights on product creation and key design priorities, focusing on two leaders behind the Nintendo Switch. Battery longevity depends heavily on System-on-Chip (SoC) power usage, including the CPU and game-running components. Lowering this consumption allowed us to develop the dedicated portable Nintendo Switch Lite, one of our initial concepts. For handheld-focused models, extended battery time is crucial. We consider the SoC enhancements highly effective in achieving these results.
